British and American Abstract Prints 1990 - 1995
The Alan Cristea Gallery is mounting an exhibition of abstract prints made by nine British and nine American artists between 1990 and 1995. These artists established an avant garde commitment to abstraction early in their careers and have since gained international renown.
For each of the selected artists, printmaking is of central importance for its technical scope and creative processes. The "imaginary landscapes" resulting from their exploration of the medium reveal the visual richness and diversity of contemporary abstraction.
Featuring Terry Frost, Victor Pasmore, John Hoyland, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold, Mary Heilmann, Mick Moon, Howard Hodgkin, John Walker, Joel Shapiro, Helen Frankenthaler, Donald Judd, Gordon House, Stephen Buckley, Sean Scully, Mel Bochner, Robert Motherwell and Frank Stella.
