Michael Craig - Martin

The exhibition will include all the original prints which Michael Craig-Martin has made to date and will launch Book, an illustrated book containing 10 double page screenprinted images, which is co-published by Alan Cristea Gallery and Ridinghouse Editions.

In Book and Craig-Martin's recent prints, familiar, mass-produced everyday objects are depicted with absolute clarity, against shocking, yet seductive, coloured grounds -  a pair of shoes on a field of fuchsia pink, a swivel chair on acidic yellow, an open book on flame red.

The artist depicts and transforms the mundane, thereby questioning the natures of appearances and the audience's perceptions of visual imagery.

This will be the first exhibition of Craig-Martin's editioned prints, and will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue with an introduction by Richard Shone.
